Texas
Texas became a state on December 29, 1845. Prior to statehood, it was the Republic of Texas, a sovereign nation that existed between 1835 and 1846.
According to the survey, the earliest Germans from Russia to settle in Texas were first generation descendants of Volga Germans from the colonies of Erlenbach and Holstein. They settled in Higgins, Texas in 1901.
Immigrant Germans from Russia along with first, second, third, fourth and fifth generation descendants were reported to have lived in Texas.
