South Carolina
Pennsylvania became a state on May 23, 1788. Prior to statehood, it was the Province of South Carolina, an English and later a British colony, between 1712-1776.
According to the survey, the earliest Germans from Russia to settle in South Carolina were third generation descendants of Volhynia Germans from Zhitomir. They arrived in Summerville, South Carolina in 1972.
There were no immigrant Germans from Russia reported to have settled in South Carolina. There were, however, first, second and third generation descendants living there at some point.
