Indiana
Indiana became a state on December 11, 1816. Prior to statehood, it was known as the Territory of Indiana (or Indiana Territory) between 1800–1816.
According to the survey, the earliest Germans from Russia to arrive in Indiana were second generation Volga Germans from the colony of Grimm. They arrived in 1935 and settled in Valparaiso, Indiana.
There were no immigrant Germans from Russia reported to have lived in Indiana. There were, however, first, second, third, fourth and fifth generation descendants living there at some point.
