Kansas
Kansas became a state on January 29, 1861. Prior to statehood, it was known as the Territory of Kansas (or Kansas Territory) between 1854–1861.
According to the survey, the earliest Germans from Russia to arrive in Kansas were Black Sea immigrants from the Molotschna colony of Elisabethal. They settled in Buhler, Kansas in 1874.
Immigrant Germans from Russia along with first, second, third, fourth and fifth generation descendants were reported to have lived in Kansas.
