Montana

Montana became a state on November 8, 1889. Prior to statehood, it was known as the Territory of Montana (or Montana Territory) between 1864–1889.

According to the survey, the earliest Germans from Russia to arrive in Montana were immigrant Black Sea Germans from the Beresan colony of Landau. They settled in Glendive, Montana in 1901.

Immigrant Germans from Russia along with first, second, third, fourth and fifth generation descendants were reported to have lived in Montana.
