Maine

Maine became a state on March 15, 1820. Prior to statehood, it was a part of the state of Massachusetts known as the District of Maine between 1778–1820.

According to the survey, the earliest Germans from Russia to arrive in Maine were fourth generation Volga Germans from the colony of Kukkus. They settled in Manchester, Maine in 1988.

There were no immigrant Germans from Russia reported to have settled in Maine. There were, however, third, fourth and fifth generation descendants living there at some point.
