Iowa

Iowa became a state on December 28, 1846. Prior to statehood, it was known as the Territory of Iowa (or Iowa Territory) between 1838–1846.

According to the survey, the earliest Germans from Russia to arrive in Iowa were immigrant Volga Germans from the colony of Norka. They arrived in 1876 and settled in Kellogg, Iowa.

Immigrant Germans from Russia along with their first, second, third and fourth generation descendants were reported to have lived in Iowa.
